Our client in Canada is seeking a Quality Assurance Technical Analyst with hands-on application testing and automation experience. The role involves developing test plans, creating test data, scripting, execution, and defect management across COTS, in-house apps, MuleSoft APIs, and third-party integrations.

The analyst will collaborate with stakeholders, review BA documents, and provide status updates throughout test cycles.

Job description

Our client is looking for a Quality Assurance Technical Analyst with application testing and automation experience to supplement the QA Team, testing multiple integrated systems, including; COTS, custom in-house applications, MuleSoft API’s, and 3rd party integrations.

Summary: The QA Analyst resource will support the development of test plan, creation or identification of test data, test scripting, test execution, and defect management for project work. In addition, the resource will work with other internal and external stakeholders throughout various test cycles. This individual will also work on other project related tasks as assigned by leadership and/or the Team Lead. To be effective in this role, the analyst must be familiar with BA documentation and processes. Other work items may include working with multiple resources and effective reporting of results and progress to the Team Lead.

Description of Services:

Candidate will establish testing approaches to effectively measure test results and provide confirmation; ensure test cases reflect the scope of business requirements and development being delivered.

Under direction, support the following activities:

• Review, evaluate and provide test input during business requirements and design specifications gathering sessions.
• Identify and communicate testing issues, implement process improvement and issue resolution.
• Identify the target test items to be evaluated by the test effort.
• Support in development and execution of test plans.
• Define the appropriate tests required and any associated test data.
• Gather and manage the test data.
• Evaluate the outcome of each test cycle.
• Identify the most appropriate implementation approach for a given test.
• Implement individual tests.
• Set up and execute the tests.
• Log outcomes and verify test execution.
• Analyze and recover from execution errors.
• Track test results, statistics, metrics and status.
• Attend necessary meetings to review testing inputs/outputs and provide status updates.
• Support project team members in the analysis of issues.
• Support project teams utilizing automated testing tools.

• Minimum combined years of relevant education and experience in a role similar to this. Experience must be applicable to this role. Acceptable education includes degrees, diplomas and certificates.
• Demonstrated experience working as a software tester in a software application development environment (details/description of development environment must be included).
• Demonstrated experience writing test cases from design documents, business processes, architecture diagrams and non-functional requirements.
• Demonstrated experience preparing test data, executing tests and verifying results and logging issues.
• Demonstrated experience and understanding of Software QA, Testing and Defect Life Cycle
• Demonstrated experience with testing in integrated environments (details/description of integrated environment must be included).
• Demonstrated experience in integrations testing
• Demonstrated experience in testing REST APIs via Postman or similar tools.
• Demonstrated experience in designing and developing JavaScript test cases in Postman for Integration APIs
• Demonstrated experience in testing SAP applications and SAP interfaces.

• Experience with user acceptance testing including creation of user acceptance plan, status reporting, and managing assigned tasks
