Job summary

Newport Williams is seeking a Junior IT Business Analyst, QA to join our Business Applications team. You will blend hands-on QA testing with business analysis to help ensure new implementations, upgrades, and enhancements meet functional, performance, and reliability standards before go-live.

You will build test scenarios, execute manual testing across environments, track defects, and contribute to release readiness with clear documentation and metrics.

Qualifications

• 2+ years' experience as a Business Analyst, Functional Analyst, or QA Analyst supporting software implementations in a global environment (cloud, hosted, on‑prem).
• Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks (e.g., REST/API).
• Solid grasp of QA methodologies, SDLC, and Agile practices.
• Familiarity with Jira, Zephyr, Azure DevOps, TestRail, or Octane.
• ISTQB, ECBA, or Oracle Fusion certification a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build test scenarios and test cases (functional, regression, integration, performance, UAT) using Zephyr.
• Execute manual testing across dev, test, and production environments.
• Log, track, and resolve defects in Jira, partnering with project and support teams.
• Validate business requirements and acceptance criteria ahead of deployment.
• Support release readiness reviews and provide quality sign‑off input.
• Maintain test documentation for audit, compliance, and change management.
• Track quality metrics and defect trends to drive process improvements.
• Write BRDs, user stories, process flows, and functional documentation.
• Support project teams on new system implementations and upgrades.

What you bring:

• Degree/diploma in Business, Computer Science, MIS, or related field
• 2+ years' experience as a Business Analyst, Functional Analyst, or QA Analyst supporting software implementations in a global environment (cloud, hosted, on‑prem)
• Hands‑on experience with test automation frameworks (e.g., REST/API)
• Solid grasp of QA methodologies, SDLC, and Agile practices
• Familiarity with tools like Jira, Zephyr, Azure DevOps, TestRail, or Octane
• Oracle Fusion exposure (ERP/HCM modules such as GL, AR, AP, PPM, SCM, Core HR) a strong plus
• ISTQB, ECBA, or Oracle Fusion certification a plus
• Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
• Comfortable balancing multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
