Job summary

Overview

Brandt Tractor Ltd is currently seeking a Territory Manager for our Mississauga Construction & Forestry location. The Territory Manager – Construction and Forestry role is vital in creating, fostering, and growing customer relationships within the defined area of responsibility (AOR) with the goal of increasing sales and rental revenue of new and used wholegoods.

A successful Territory Manager (TM) will have extensive knowledge of all potential users of new and used Construction & Forestry equipment within their designated AOR, be aware of and participate in the purchasing and rental activities of all customers, and report back to the company on activity/transaction details daily. The TM will also identify other business opportunities within the AOR that may be served by other Brandt areas, such as Parts & Service, sales of other products (e.g., on-highway trucks & trailers, agricultural equipment).

What You Will Be Responsible For
  • New account creation and development.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential customers.
  • Achieve sales targets set by the company.
  • Continuously develop a comprehensive sales pipeline of immediate and future customer opportunities.
  • Promote and sell all types of new and used wholegoods assigned to the role.
  • Promote rental and rental purchase of new and used wholegoods.
  • Understand and apply machine and company feature, advantage, benefit statements to drive sales success.
  • Deliver continuous prospecting activity and develop new accounts.
  • Keep current on product knowledge and industry (competitive) models.
  • Actively participate in and promote Brandt during industry events as required.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and quotations.
  • Submit lost sales reports on a timely basis; lost sales reports are to be filled out for all lost sales and submitted weekly to the manager.

  • Sales industry experience and/or comprehensive knowledge of heavy equipment considered an asset.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to build relationships and prospect new accounts.
  • Ability to present and negotiate with potential customers.
  • Highly motivated, ambitious, and energetic entrepreneurial outlook.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
  • Proficient computer knowledge and skills, including Microsoft Office suite.
  • Must be available to travel as needed; a recent driver’s abstract and valid passport are required.
  • Bilingual (English & French) is considered an asset.
