Job summary

NSB Omega is seeking a Terminal Operator in Calgary, AB. The role focuses on the receipt and shipping of products and additives, maintaining site facilities, and ensuring reliable operations in a safe, cost-effective manner.

Responsibilities include complying with SSHE policies, contributing to safety meetings, and supporting environmental and quality controls. Prior experience in refining or distribution is preferred; strong MS Office skills are expected.

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 or equivalent required.
  • 2–4 years’ experience in refining or distribution.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote).

Responsibilities

  • Operate, maintain and repair site facilities in a safe, efficient, cost-effective and environmentally sound manner.
  • Receive and ship products and additives at the site.
  • Ensure site safety, security and compliance with SSHE and product quality policies.
  • Write work permits; provide initial response to emergencies at the terminal.
  • Support operational excellence and participate in safety meetings.

NSB Omega is searching for a Terminal Operator for our MAJOR Oil & Gas Client in Calgary, AB.

Assignment Description
Main Functions

Perform activities related to the receipt and shipping of all products and additives at the site. Perform functions relating to site operations, ensuring the reliability of equipment and the supply/delivery system. Operate, maintain and repair site facilities in a safe, efficient, cost effective and environmentally sound manner. Participate in activities which contribute to site safety and security, environmental protection, quality and business controls, in a manner consistent with the principals of operational excellence.

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for conducting work in a manner that meets the “Nobody gets hurt” safety values of Imperial Oil in all activities.

Understands and complies with terminal SSHE (security, safety, health & environmental) and product quality policies.

Conducts day-to-day business in accordance with and in compliance to IOL policies in the areas of operations integrity, human resources, product quality, business controls and environmental regulations.

Maintains familiarity with CFO work plans, life saving actions, and applicable T1BPs

Pursues operational excellence in completion of work/task execution, following the prescribed procedures in the appropriate operations manual, and suggestion improvements if needed within the functions of rail car product receipt.

Actively participates in Health and Safety Meetings.

Actively participates in Personnel Safety Management System (PSMS) to eliminate fatalities and life altering injuries (LAI) and deliver industry leading safety performance

Writes work permits as requested

Provides initial response to emergency incidents at the terminal, including upline notifications

Other tasks to benefit to terminal operations as aligned with supervisor

Fosters culture within team that meets intent of corporate vision Company culture

Scope of Responsibility

IOCO railcar operations are handled according to procedures (PDM) and good practice

Oversees the activities of any contractors on site including the issuing of daily work permits and contractor safety related to their area of responsibility.

Ensures that Site and facilities are secure via completion of daily site inspection (s).

Skills & Qualifications Required

Grade 12

2 - 4 years experience in refining or distribution

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, One Note)
