From its origins as an LTL over-the-road and intermodal carrier, it has grown into a diverse group operating across Canada, offering a full suite of asset-based transportation services including over-the-road, cross-border, intermodal LTL and TL, drayage, transload, warehousing, distribution, logistics, and final mile.

We are seeking a Terminal Manager responsible for ensuring smooth and efficient operations through strict management and communication processes. The role involves managing all facets of the business, working within a budget, finding operational efficiencies, mentoring team members, enhancing customer service quality, and implementing best practices across all levels.

What you’ll do :
  • Manage overall operations of the cross dock, dispatch, and warehouse communication processes, procedures, and personnel
  • Achieve or surpass established cost and productivity targets
  • Communicate with customers to retain and grow business
  • Coordinate with Senior Management daily
  • Maintain and execute daily operational plans ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and timeliness
  • Oversee scheduling, discipline, and performance management of operational staff
  • Create and adjust schedules based on demand and performance
  • Monitor workloads and allocate resources proactively
  • Coordinate service schedules based on personnel and equipment locations
  • Develop initiatives to enhance organizational efficiency in servicing clients
  • Address employee questions and issues regarding operations
  • Ensure operational timelines are met through proper breakdown and verification
  • Maintain open communication with all personnel for fairness and clarity
  • Maintain logs for quality checks and assessments
  • Respond thoroughly and accurately to complaints
  • Adhere to corporate and departmental policies
  • Complete required training via Carriers Edge
  • Perform additional duties as required
Must haves :
  • Management experience leading a team preferred
  • Experience in dispatch or call center environments is an asset
  • Knowledge of the transportation industry (shipping, receiving, scheduling, freight negotiations, regulations) is an asset
  • Clean Criminal Record
  • Ability to deal tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally with people
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Flexibility and adaptability to change
  • Strong attention to detail
