Job summary

Colonial Group in Manitoba is seeking a Peak Planner to support terminal leadership in maintaining performance, communication, and operational management of the transportation terminal. You will work with supervisors, drivers, and support staff to ensure safety, service, and cost objectives are met.

The role operates on-site Monday through Saturday, with a 7:00am–4:00pm shift, under a temporary contract until February 2027, with an hourly rate of $35.00.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in transportation/logistics preferred.
• Experience with freight planning, dispatch, routing is an asset.
• Strong understanding of terminal operations and route planning.
• High school diploma; college in logistics is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Support daily terminal operations including dispatch, dock activities, inbound/outbound freight, and route planning.
• Coordinate during peak periods to match staffing and equipment with forecast volumes.
• Monitor freight movements and address delays or bottlenecks promptly.
• Collaborate with leadership to optimize drivers, equipment, and terminal capacity.
• Provide guidance to supervisors, drivers, and staff to meet service expectations.
• Maintain safety programs and compliance, participate in audits and corrective actions.
• Track KPIs and report on on-time performance, productivity, and costs.
• Communicate clearly with stakeholders about freight status and priorities.
• Work with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless freight movement.
