Job summary

Lookout Housing and Health Society is seeking a Tenant Support Worker in Vancouver, BC. The role involves working with residents to provide assistance, education, and skills training to promote independence and stability in living arrangements. The position requires respirator fit testing; COR certification and WorkSafeBC compliance.

Clean-shaven requirement applies to respirator use. Shift pattern from Sunday to Thursday, 12:00–20:00, 7.5 hours per shift.

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Community Social Service is required.
  • Two years sobriety if alcohol/drug problems is required as stated.
  • Criminal Record Clearance – Vulnerable Sector is required.
  • OFA 1 First Aid Certificate may be required.
  • Class 5 BC Drivers’ License may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in tenant intakes and provide support services and assessments.
  • Identify challenges for tenants and develop service plans; crisis intervention; administer finances and medication.
  • Ensure basic needs are met by working with individuals on a long-term basis.
  • Complete required paperwork and maintain data; statistical and evaluative records.
  • Assist with volunteers and practicum students on site.
  • Occasional external work; driving may be useful.
  • Maintain health and safety practices and compliance.
