Job summary

Cogir Senior Living in Winnipeg, MB is seeking a compassionate Tenant Companion for a part-time role at The Waverley/Rosewood. You will support residents with daily activities, reminders for medications, and help with meals and social programs, while promoting independence and safety.

This position requires strong English communication, a high school diploma, and a positive, team-focused attitude; a Vulnerable Sector Check is required.

Qualifications

• Preference will be given to applicants currently employed as a Tenant Companion.
• Ability to work independently in a home setting and as part of a team.
• Ability to organize workload and pursue self-development.
• Must provide Vulnerable Sector Check or be willing to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Provide cueing, direction and assistance with personal supports, hygiene and safe ambulation daily.
• Provide medication reminders and assist with non-prescription meds per site protocol.
• Maintain tenant suites and common areas in a safe, clean, comfortable condition.
• Orientate tenants move-in and transfers with a warm, welcoming approach.
• Conduct and encourage meaningful social and recreational activities.
• Ensure a safe environment by following workplace safety and site policies.
• Assist with meals and snacks within a relaxed dining environment.
• Collaborate with supervisory/management staff as needed.
