Job summary

Cogir Senior Living in Edmonton is seeking a Part-time Health Care Aide for overnight shifts. You will provide personal care, assist residents with daily living activities, and follow the plan of care under supervision.

Ideal candidates are graduates of Health Care Aide programs with 500 hours practicum, have experience with seniors, strong communication, and solid organizational skills. Must be able to lift/transfer residents and pass a background check; Basic Life Support is recommended.

Qualifications

• Graduate of Health Care Aide program (or provincial equivalent certificate with practicum hours).
• Experience working with seniors in community health services.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Demonstrated organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to perform personal care duties and lifting/transferring tasks.
• Vulnerable Sector Check or willingness to obtain one.
• Basic Life Support and First Aid certification recommended.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to the plan of care as determined by the supervisor.
• Assist residents with personal care and activities of daily living.
• Observe and report changes in residents' condition; escalate emergencies as needed.
• Assist with mobility, transfers, and ambulation.
• Provide cognitive, social, emotional, and psychological support to residents and families.
