Job summary

Umbrella Family in Ontario is seeking a Temporary Teaching Assistant to support classrooms and children. You will greet families, assist staff, and help in Infant, Toddler, or Preschool rooms, following daily plans and maintaining a safe, welcoming learning environment.

The role offers part-time hours after school, with some flexibility across centres; required are a caring approach, teamwork, and knowledge of How Does Learning Happen.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Meet and greet children and families at drop-off.
• Assist staff in classrooms or other areas of the centre.
• Provide support in Infant, Toddler, or Preschool rooms as needed.
• Deliver and serve snacks, tidy classrooms, or support other centre needs.
• Follow the daily plans and support children’s learning and engagement.
• Adapt to different duties as required by the centre’s schedule.
• Be flexible and ready to support co-workers and the centre.

Location: Greensville Centre, 625 Harvest Road, Dundas, ON L9H 5K8

Total Hours per Week: 5

Schedule: Monday to Friday 4:00pm-5:00pm

Pay Rate (per Collective Agreement, includes wage grants): $23.79 per hour

About the Role

As a Teacher’s Assistant, you are a key support to the classroom, the children, and the centre. Your flexibility, care, and teamwork help maintain a positive, organized, and safe environment for all. Duties vary from centre to centre, but your contributions will always make a meaningful impact.

• Deliver and serve snacks, tidy classrooms, or support other centre needs as assigned
• Follow the plans for the day and support children’s learning and engagement
• Adapt to different duties as required by the centre’s schedule and needs
• Be flexible and ready to support co‑workers and the centre wherever help is required
