Job summary

Umbrella Family invites applications for a Temporary Teaching Assistant position ending November 1, 2027. Located at Greensville Centre, Dundas, ON, this role supports classrooms and families after school hours, with a 5-hour workweek from Monday to Friday, 4:00pm to 5:00pm, at $23.79 per hour.

As part of our early childhood team, you’ll assist teachers, engage children, follow daily plans, and help maintain a safe, organized learning environment.

• Deliver and serve snacks; tidy classrooms; support centre needs.
• Follow daily plans to support children’s learning and engagement.
• Be flexible to support co-workers and the centre.

About the Role

As a Teacher’s Assistant, you are a key support to the classroom, the children, and the centre. Your flexibility, care, and teamwork help maintain a positive, organized, and safe environment for all. Duties vary from centre to centre, but your contributions will always make a meaningful impact.

Certifications

• Standard First Aid with CPR Level C
• Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Police Check
• Proof ofup-to-date immunizations(TB, Tetanus, MMR)

Key Responsibilities

• Meet and greet children and families at drop-off
• Assist staff as they arrive, including helping in classrooms or other areas of the centre
• Provide support in assigned classrooms, including Infant, Toddler, or Preschool rooms, based on daily operational needs
• Deliver and serve snacks, tidy classrooms, or support other centre needs as assigned
• Follow the plans for the day and support children’s learning and engagement
• Adapt to different duties as required by the centre’s schedule and needs
• Be flexible and ready to support co-workers and the centre wherever help is required
