Qualifications

• OSSD required.
• General Carpenter’s Certificate of Qualification required.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret drawings.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Experience with power and hand tools and machines.
• Ability to communicate effectively with staff, suppliers and public.

Responsibilities

• Construct, erect, install and repair walls, ceilings, flooring, portable buildings, playground equipment and shelving.
• Prepare surfaces and apply finishes to shelving and cabinets.
• Carry out general maintenance duties.
• Estimate, requisition and purchase materials and equipment.
• Maintain equipment and machinery and prepare reports as required.
• May perform custodial duties temporarily.
• Operate a motor vehicle.
