Job summary

Extendicare is seeking a part-time nursing leader to oversee resident care in Canada. The role emphasizes coordinating care, supervising LPNs and Health Care Aides, and collaborating across the care team to ensure high-quality service.

Qualifications

• Must work within the Health Professions Act at all times.
• Responsible for assessing, planning, monitoring and coordinating the delivery of resident care.
• Oversees Interdisciplinary Team Conference, care plan development and addresses family concerns.
• Plans, directs, and supervises the work of the LPN and Health Care Aide Staff.
• Collaborates with the health care team and champions customer satisfaction and service.
• Assists in orientating, mentoring and competency development of staff.
• Staff replacement in absence of the nursing clerk.
• Takes charge of the facility in the absence of management.

• Previous experience in Long Term Care preferred, which includes Complex medical and Dementia.
• Comprehensive knowledge of nursing and health care practices as well as in the areas of wound management, infection control, least restraint, and zero lift.
• Effective human relation skills enable others through coaching, mentoring, and learning through shared experiences.
• Ability to work alone and with others while prioritizing tasks to handle most urgent priorities first.
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
• Ability to work effectively within a variety of stressful situations and challenges and with various individuals or groups.
• Strong organizing, planning, prioritizing, and time management skills.
• Proven experience in taking personal responsibility for seeking information from various sources.

QUALIFICATIONS
