Job summary

Good Spirit School Division invites applications for a Temporary Part Time Educational Assistant at Melville Comprehensive School. The position is 5.5 hours per day and runs within the Educational Assistant calendar.

The successful candidate will support students with learning goals, assist with mobility and personal care, and work with the classroom teacher while maintaining confidentiality. Hours and supervision are set by the principal and student services.

Qualifications

• Minimum Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent.
• Acute attention to detail, adaptability, flexibility and the ability to work as a team member will be considered assets.
• Knowledge of and experience with indigenous ways of knowing, living, and being are a strong asset.

Responsibilities

Assignment And Term

• This position is a temporary part-time position of 5.5 hours/day in accordance with the Educational Assistant school calendar.
• The position commences October 26, 2026 and expires June 29, 2027 with the work schedule to be determined later on. This is determined by the principal and student services. Rest periods will be scheduled in accordance with the current collective bargaining agreement.

The Duties Of An Educational Assistant Are To

• Work closely with students to meet their diverse learning goals.
• Provide assistance to students with mobility needs and/or who require personal care.
• Assist the classroom teacher to support learning with all students in the classroom.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of all information pertaining to a child, classroom and the school.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the principal or designate and those listed in Job Description.

The Successful Candidate Will Have The Desired Qualifications

• Minimum Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent.

Salary And Benefits

• In Accordance with the CUPE 4784 Collective Agreement
• The successful candidate will be paid on a monthly basis at an hourly rate from $21.00 - $25.79 plus applicable vacation pay.
• Benefits include participation in the Saskatchewan School Board Association (SSBA) Employee Benefits Plan if eligible, the Municipal Employees' Pension Plan (MEPP) and opportunities to attend professional development seminars.
