• Valid MTO “G” class driver’s license in good standing.
• Able to be trained in the operation of all related equipment and work skills.
• Available and flexible to work varying shifts, rotational duties, weekends, and overtime as required.
• Able to perform a variety of duties including manual labour.
• Demonstrated communication/customer service skills with an ability to keep accurate written records.
• Reliable with a good attitude and employment record.

Responsibilities

• Clear and maintain sidewalks, facility walkways, multi-use pathways, and parking lots.
• Inspect city assets and report maintenance needs.
• Perform winter control duties across assigned sections.
• Work as part of a team to ensure public safety and accessibility.

As a Temporary Labourer joining the Parks team for our Winter season, you will be responsible for work related to clearing and maintaining sidewalks, facility walkways, multi-use pathways, and parking lots, as well as inspecting city assets.

As a Temporary Labourer joining the Parks team for our Winter season, you will be responsible for work related to clearing and maintaining sidewalks, facility walkways, multi-use pathways, and parking lots, as well as inspecting city assets.

Shift availability includes: Day Shifts, Afternoon Shifts and Night Shifts.

(Temporary Full Time for Approximately 4 months)

Responsibilities

Positions will involve a variety of winter control duties including manual labour organized within the following winter sections:

• Downtown Sidewalks, City Hall, Market, Victoria Park Outdoor Rink.
• Hand Clearing - Sidewalks, Facility Walkways, Walkway Steps and School Crossing Guard Intersections. - Inspection of winter rinks, toboggan hills, dog parks and other city assets.
• City Sidewalk clearing
• Facility Parking Lots, BMUT’s/Multi use trails, Cemeteries and Representative Route Patrol.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education

• Minimum Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.

Additional Requirements

• Valid MTO “G” class driver’s license in good standing.
