Job summary

Prairie South School Division #210 is seeking a Temporary Educational Assistant at Central Butte School. The 9:00 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.

shift runs ASAP through November 6, 2026, with a possible extension. The position is 0.50 FTE and wages follow the CUPE Local 5512 agreement. Responsibilities include supporting students with diverse needs and/or high behavioural needs in alignment with school policies and the applicable collective agreement.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 diploma or GED from a recognized institution.
• Minimum of one year post-secondary training related to student needs (Educational Assistant, ECD, Youth Worker, or Rehabilitation Worker).
• Valid Class 5 driver's license is required.

Duties:

In addition to those duties outlined in the job description, duties include supporting students with diverse needs and/or high behavioural needs.

Education & Qualifications

• A minimum of Grade 12 diploma from a recognized educational institution as approved by the Board of Education or General Educational Development (GED)
• A minimum of one (1) year post-secondary training related to student needs such as Educational Assistant, Early Childhood Development, Youth Worker or Rehabilitation Worker (such training must be from a recognized educational institution as approved by the Employer)
• A valid Class 5 drivers license

Physical Requirements:

The ability to do heavy work is required in some assignments (ie; exerting up to 100 lbs of force occasionally, up to 50 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force constantly to lift students and/or move objects).

Wage & Benefits:

In accordance with the current CUPE Local 5512 Collective Bargaining Agreement. Currently, this is a range of $22.49 to $26.43 per hour.
