British Columbia Public School Employers' Association | Make a Future - Careers in BC Education seeks an Education Assistant for École Squamish Elementary. Temporary assignment from Sept 17, 2026 to June 30, 2027 or until incumbent returns. 5.5 hours per day on school days. Rate of pay: $33.69/hour.
Under supervision of principals and classroom teachers, you will assist students with disabilities and health needs while supporting program goals. A criminal records check is required.
Under the direction of the Principal(s) and the general supervision of the Classroom Teacher(s), provides assistance to students who have physical disabilities, chronic health impairments, intellectual disabilities and/or social, emotional and behavioural problems as designated by the Director of Instruction, while supporting the achievement of stated programs goals and objectives. Supervision of a designated area either inside or outside the school, before, during and/or after school as defined by the terms of the assignment.
This position will require the successful applicant to deliver a higher level of care.
Completion of Grade 12 plus a special program and over six (6) months up to and including one (1) year's related experience. A special program would be the Capilano University Education Assistant Program. Valid Class 5 B.C. Driver's License. Knowledge of basic First Aid. Basic knowledge of related learning tools (ie. computers, etc).
