Job summary

British Columbia Public School Employers' Association | Make a Future - Careers in BC Education seeks Education Assistants for two positions at District - South St'a7mes School. The role supports students with diverse needs, with duties including supervision before/after school and helping implement learning programs.

Requirements: Grade 12 with a specialized program and 6–12 months related experience, valid BC Class 5 license, basic first aid and basic computer/learning tools knowledge.

Qualifications

• Completion of Grade 12 plus a special program and over six (6) months up to and including one (1) year's related experience.
• A special program would be the Capilano University Education Assistant Program.
• Valid Class 5 B.C. Driver's License.
• Knowledge of basic First Aid.
• Basic knowledge of related learning tools (ie. computers, etc).

Responsibilities

• Under supervision, assists students with disabilities to support programs and classroom goals, as designated by instructional leaders.
• Supervises a designated area inside or outside the school before, during and/or after school as defined by the assignment.

Education Assistant 2 Positions

Location: District - South St'a7mes School

Effective: September 8, 2026

Hours: 5.5 hours per day, for all days school is in session for students (Education Assistant)

Rate of Pay: $33.69/hour (Education Assistant)

Duties & Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Principal(s) and the general supervision of the Classroom Teacher(s), provides assistance to students who have physical disabilities, chronic health diagnoses, intellectual disabilities and/or social, emotional and behavioural needs as designated by the Director of Instruction, while supporting the achievement of stated programs goals and objectives. Supervision of a designated area either inside or outside the school, before, during and/or after school as defined by the terms of the assignment. This position will require the successful applicant to deliver a higher level of care.

Qualifications
