Job summary

School District No.48 (Sea to Sky) in Squamish is seeking an Education Assistant for a temporary role from September 25, 2026 to November 6, 2026, or until the incumbent returns. The position is 5.5 hours per day, school days only, at École Squamish Elementary.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

EDUCATION ASSISTANT

Location: District - South

École Squamish Elementary

Temporary: September 25, 2026 to November 6, 2026, or return of Incumbent, whichever occurs first

Hours: 5.5 hours per day, for all days school is in session for students (Education Assistant)

Rate of Pay: $33.69/hour (Education Assistant)

Duties & Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Principal(s) and the general supervision of the Classroom Teacher(s), provides assistance to students who have physical disabilities, chronic health diagnoses, intellectual disabilities and/or social, emotional and behavioural needs as designated by the Director of Instruction, while supporting the achievement of stated programs goals and objectives. Supervision of a designated area either inside or outside the school, before, during and/or after school as defined by the terms of the assignment.

This position will require the successful applicant to deliver a higher level of care.

Qualifications

Completion of Grade 12 plus a special program and over six (6) months up to and including one (1) year's related experience. A special program would be the Capilano University Education Assistant Program. Valid Class 5 B.C. Driver's License. Knowledge of basic First Aid. Basic knowledge of related learning tools (ie. computers, etc).
