Job summary

Bluewater District School Board invites applications for a Temporary Full-Time Child and Youth Worker to support SEL across the district. The role operates within the Education Centre in Chesley, reporting to the Clinical Manager and working with a multi-disciplinary team to promote mental health and safe, inclusive learning environments.

Qualifications

• Three-year college diploma in child and youth worker or related field.
• At least one year of relevant experience with youth preferred.
• Behaviour Management System training or willingness to obtain certification.

Responsibilities

• Support staff and students in schools by providing information and learning opportunities related to mental health.
• Design and support student behaviour tracking documentation.
• Implement strategies to support students with social-emotional/behavioural needs.
• Organize and implement student group learning opportunities on SEL.
• Provide feedback to team about student strengths and needs.
• Collaborate with teachers/administrators on mental health literacy lesson plans.
• Contribute to Positive Behaviour Safety Plans and strategies.
• Develop and implement preventative programs for healthy school environments.
• Provide classroom-based education to promote emotional and social well-being.
• Maintain confidential files and records.
• Other duties as assigned.
