Job summary

Apex Utilities Inc. is seeking a Temporary Associate, Regulatory in Leduc, AB. This full-time, unionized role supports Regulatory Operations and Rates with data analysis and documentation for external filings.

You will assist in preparing regulatory submissions, conduct regulatory research, and help prepare Regulatory and Legal Affairs deliverables. A bachelor’s degree plus 3 years in data analysis within a regulated utility is preferred.

Qualifications

What You Will Do:

This is a temporary full-time position required up to January 31, 2028.

In this unionized position of Temporary - Associate, Regulatory, you will play an essential role within our Operations Team. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Support preparation of financial and business operations data and conduct preliminary analysis for the Regulatory Operations and Rates functions.
• Assist in the preparation of external routine regulatory applications, information requests, and supporting documentation.
• Assist in preparing Regulatory and Legal Affairs deliverables.
• Conduct research on regulatory matters

What You Will Bring:

• A bachelor’s degree in business, economics, accounting, or a related field, plus at least 3 years of experience in financial/business data analysis, accounting, or a related area, preferably within a regulated utility environment.
• Advanced skills on Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Proficiency in financial systems and data analytics tools (e.g., JD Edwards, Power BI) and intermediate knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint.
• Strong financial analysis, forecasting, and modeling skills, with experience working with financial and operational data.
• High attention to detail and an analytical mindset, including the ability to identify trends and insights from complex datasets.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
• Ability to understand financial data relationships and assess the impact of business and operational changes.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities within tight deadlines.
