School District 72 operates throughout a large geographic area. Campbell River and Quadra Island schools and our school board office are located on the traditional territory of the Liǧʷiɫdaxʷ people. School District 72 also encompasses the traditional territory of the Klahoose (Cortes), K'ómoks (Sayward), and χʷɛmaɬkʷu (Bute Inlet) First Nations.

Salary: $60,015 to $109,520 (proportionate to FTE)

School District 72 is looking for a temporary .2 FTE French Immersion Primary teacher to join our team of educators at École des Deux Mondes Elementary who strive to bring the district's learning beliefs to life.

School District 72 (Campbell River) serves over 5,600 students in 18 schools with a diverse range of programs that are progressive and responsive to the educational needs and interests of students.

The successful candidate for this position must have:

  • Fluency in French.
  • Enthusiasm for teaching French language and a clear knowledge of the culture.
  • Strong knowledge of Immersion and its pedagogy.
  • Sound knowledge of effective literacy instruction strategies.
  • Successful experience teaching at the Primary/Intermediate elementary levels, preferably combined with post-secondary training in teaching French Immersion.

The starting full-time salary for these teaching positions range from $60,015 and $109,520. Placement on a salary scale is subject to verification of experience and certification and will be done in accordance with the current collective agreement.
