Job summary

Renfrew County Catholic District School Board is seeking a full-time temporary custodian to perform cleaning duties across 18 elementary and 2 secondary schools. The role includes maintaining hygiene standards, operating and inspecting safety systems, and supporting site operations for 13 communities within RCCDSB.

The successful candidate will have at least one year of janitorial experience, be able to lift up to 50 lbs, and work well both independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of an Ontario Secondary School Diploma.
• Minimum of one year job experience in commercial/institutional janitorial work.
• Ability to perform required physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Sound knowledge of WHMIS, fire code, safety regulations and protective equipment.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Carry out cleaning procedures of interior and exterior parts of the building.
• Maintain records as required (monthly fire system checks, maintenance records, etc.).
• Assist during events and with opening/locking doors as needed.
• Ensure walkways, parking areas are sanded, salted, or plowed as required.
• Monitor heating, lighting to conserve energy and comfort for users.
