Job summary

SSN Networks Inc. is seeking a telecom technician to join our on-site team in Canada. The role involves inspecting, testing and maintaining telephone equipment, wiring and related hardware across telecommunications networks.

The ideal candidate has a college certificate or diploma (1–2 years) and 1 year to less than 2 years of experience. Responsibilities include fault diagnosis, system testing, security procedures, and LAN/Internet setup to support reliable telecom services.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and test cable signals and associated equipment.
  • Diagnose and locate equipment faults and repair telecommunications equipment.
  • Install, arrange, remove and maintain telephone equipment, wiring and hardware.
  • Repair or replace defective telephone equipment.
  • Test installed telephone systems to locate transmission faults.
  • Analyze test results and adjust switching system, network and software.
  • Install telecom trunking systems, circuits and equipment in central offices.
  • Evaluate and install computer hardware, networking software and OS software.
  • Provide problem-solving services to network users.
  • Implement data, software and hardware security procedures.
  • Perform routine network startup/shutdown and maintain control records.
  • Perform data backups and disaster recovery; monitor network traffic and security; optimize server performance.
  • Set up LANs and Internet connections.
