Job summary

BAAC Construction is seeking a detail-oriented Permitting/Design Coordinator to support telecom network design and permit approvals across Alberta, including urban and rural settings. You will prepare, submit, and track permit applications, coordinate crossing agreements, and assist with design package assembly to keep projects on schedule.

Ideal candidates bring hands-on Alberta permitting experience, strong organization, and proactive communication with agencies, land agents, and project teams

Qualifications

• Permitting, land, or design coordination experience in telecom, utilities, oil & gas, or construction in Alberta.
• Direct experience with Alberta permitting processes in urban and rural settings.
• Hands-on with TEC roadside development permits and municipal/county/MD approvals.
• Knowledge of crossing agreements, landowner consents, and environmental/historical requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit permit applications and supporting packages to TEC, municipalities, counties, and other authorities.
• Maintain permit tracker: submissions, status, conditions, expiry dates; renewals to prevent lapse.
• Coordinate crossing agreements and landowner consents with operators and land agents.
• Gather base design information (utility records, land titles, right-of-way plans) and support design package assembly.
• Maintain design and permitting document control; provide status updates to Design Manager/Project Manager.
