Job summary

Emergency Medical Care Inc. (EMC), a Medavie Health Services subsidiary, seeks a Clinical Support Paramedic in Nova Scotia to assess health needs and provide clinical advice using decision support software within the provincial EHS system.

You will maintain professional competencies through ongoing education and supervised practice, contributing to patient safety and a responsive emergency health service.

Qualifications

• Active CPNS registration as an Advance Care Paramedic.
• Minimum 5 years recent experience, with at least 3 years frontline in high-volume area.
• ACLS/ATLS/PTLS/PALS certification an asset.
• Proficient in Windows applications and typing 30 wpm.

Responsibilities

• Provide telephone triage, medication advice and health information to a range of callers.
• Provide clinical advice to Operational staff and promote alternative care pathways.
• Assess patients via telephone with clinical decision support software.
• Maintain accurate records of service user inquiries and outcomes.
• Provide health education and reference Health Care Professionals as needed.
• Act as clinical resource for non-medical staff and assess inter-facility transport needs.
