Job summary

Equinox Gold's Musselwhite Mine in Northwestern Ontario is seeking a Tele-op Technician to join the maintenance team. You will maintain and inspect tele-op systems, VOD, fiber optics, tracking systems, and innovative automation projects, reporting to the Site Electrical Supervisor.

The role offers a 14 days on, 14 days off schedule, 12-hour shifts, and a base salary of CAD 143,703 per year, plus a defined contribution pension with 5% employer contribution and potential up to 4% employer match.

Qualifications

  • Certified journeyman with 5-10 years of experience or Electronic Technician Certification.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, written and listening skills.
  • High level of organization, confidence and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to perform in a self-directed, fast-paced, team environment.
  • High degree of computer literacy (Microsoft Office, SAP) is a definite asset.
  • Knowledge of Maintenance & Reliability terminology and processes.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, install, and maintain tele-op systems from Tele-remote and Automated.
  • Inspect and maintain Vehicle and Personnel Tracking Systems.
  • Support new automation projects and site improvements.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of automation records and inspections for audits.
  • Perform inspections and testing of automated systems and stay updated on codes/regulations.
  • Mentor and assist onsite Electrical personnel in maintaining automated systems.

Purpose:

The Maintenance department's goals are to continue fostering a safe and efficient work environment, minimize downtime and ensure optimum equipment effectiveness through proactive maintenance practices. Reporting to the Site Electrical Supervisor, the Tele-op Technician will be responsible for maintaining and inspecting all tele-op systems, VOD, Fiber-optic systems, leaky feeder support, Personnel and Vehicle Tracking and all other innovative automated projects at Musselwhite Mine.

Responsibilities include:
  • Inspection, Installation, and maintenance of all tele-op systems from Tele-remote and Automated
  • Inspection and maintenance of all Vehicle and Personnel Tracking Systems
  • Inspection, Installation, and maintenance of all other upcoming innovative projects at site
  • Provide technical support for continued improvement of site automation innovation
  • Maintain accurate documentation of all automation records and inspections for audit
  • Perform inspections and testing of automated systems
  • Keep current with all automation codes and regulations
  • Work in a healthy work environment with full support, cooperation, and commitment to satisfy our operation's goal of being accident-free
  • Comply with federal and provincial acts and regulations, and legal requirements
  • Adhere to all relevant corporate policies and procedures
  • Ability to mentor and assist onsite Electrical personnel to maintain and troubleshoot automated systems
  • Perform other relevant duties as assigned
Skills and Experience:
  • Certified journeyman with 5-10 years of experience and or Electronic Technician Certification

Working Conditions:

The schedule for this position will consist of 14 days on and 14 days off, 12 hours per day.

Compensation:
  • The base salary range for this position is CAD$143,703 per year, depending on skills, experience, and qualifications.
  • The Company offers a Defined Contribution Pension Plan (DCPP), including an automatic 5% employer contribution, with the option for employees to receive up to an additional 4% employer match on employee contributions.
