Job summary

Equinox Gold Corp. at Musselwhite Mine in Northwestern Ontario seeks a Tele-Op Technician to maintain and inspect tele-op systems, VOD, fiber-optic networks, and tracking tech, supporting automated projects.

You will report to the Site Electrical Supervisor, uphold safety and audit records, mentor onsite electrical personnel, and work a 14-days-on/14-days-off schedule in a high‑quality underground operation.

Qualifications

• Certified journeyman with 5-10 years of experience or Electronic Technician Certification.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, written, and listening skills.
• Organizational skills, confidence, and decision-making abilities.

Responsibilities

• Inspection, installation, and maintenance of tele-op systems (tele-remote and automated).
• Inspection and maintenance of Vehicle and Personnel Tracking systems.
• Support ongoing automated projects at Musselwhite Mine and provide technical support for improvements.
• Maintain automation documentation and inspections for audits.
• Perform testing of automated systems and stay current with automation codes and regulations.

Purpose

The Maintenance department’s goals are to continue fostering a safe and efficient work environment, minimize downtime and ensure optimum equipment effectiveness through proactive maintenance practices. Reporting to the Site Electrical Supervisor, the Tele-op Technician will be responsible for maintaining and inspecting all tele-op systems, VOD, Fiber-optic systems, leaky feeder support, Personnel and Vehicle Tracking and all other innovative automated projects at Musselwhite Mine.

Responsibilities Include

• Inspection, Installation, and maintenance of all tele-op systems from Tele-remote and Automated
• Inspection and maintenance of all Vehicle and Personnel Tracking Systems
• Inspection, Installation, and maintenance of all other upcoming innovative projects at site
• Provide technical support for continued improvement of site automation innovation
• Maintain accurate documentation of all automation records and inspections for audit
• Perform inspections and testing of automated systems
• Keep current with all automation codes and regulations
• Work in a healthy work environment with full support, cooperation, and commitment to satisfy our operation’s goal of being accident-free
• Comply with federal and provincial acts and regulations, and legal requirements
• Adhere to all relevant corporate policies and procedures
• Ability to mentor and assist onsite Electrical personnel to maintain and troubleshoot automated systems
• Perform other relevant duties as assigned

Skills And Experience

• Certified journeyman with 5-10 years of experience and or Electronic Technician Certification
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, written, and listening skills.
• A high level of organizational skills, confidence, and decision-making abilities
• Ability to perform in a self-directed, fast paced, team environment
• High degree of computer literacy. (Microsoft Office and SAP) a definite asset
• A thorough understanding of Maintenance management
• Knowledge of Maintenance & Reliability terminology and processes

Working Conditions

The schedule for this position will consist of 14 days on and 14 days off, 12 hours per day.

Compensation

• The base salary range for this position is CAD$143,703 per year, depending on skills, experience, and qualifications.
• The Company offers a Defined Contribution Pension Plan (DCPP), including an automatic 5% employer contribution, with the option for employees to receive up to an additional 4% employer match on employee contributions.
