Job summary

SideFX is seeking an experienced Senior CG Supervisor to lead advanced Houdini-driven pipelines for film production. You will validate frameworks, align cross-functional teams, and ensure scalable, performant tools that enhance user experience in a fast-paced studio environment.

Applicants should have 5+ years in production, deep Houdini expertise, and a track record shaping production workflows. Remote work is not standard; on-site collaboration in a creative, tech-forward setting is expected.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of senior-level production experience, preferably in film
• Strong working knowledge of Houdini, including procedural workflows and day-to-day artist and TD usage in production
• Deep domain expertise in animation, motion editing, image processing, sequencing/editorial, lighting, rendering, or compositing
• Proven ability to influence priorities and align cross-functional stakeholders without formal authority
• Experience providing structured feedback to engineering teams on tools used in real production work
• Comfortable operating with ambiguity and defining processes and priorities
• Ability to work independently and in a nimble team environment
• Knowledge of Python programming and software development skills
• Production experience as a CG Supervisor or VFX Supervisor is a bonus
• Familiarity with Houdini's underlying architecture, including C++, Qt, and Python UI/UX layers, is a bonus
• Public speaking or client-facing experience is a bonus

Responsibilities

• Propose, scope, and validate new frameworks, features, and workflows with developers, technical directors, and internal teams
• Ensure solutions meet CG production demands, with emphasis on pipeline viability, performance, and user experience
• Collaborate with developers to clarify and uphold priorities across relevance, completeness, usability, feasibility, and resources
• Monitor development progress and communicate status to R&D and other teams
• Maintain and enforce consistent workflows, features, and best practices across Houdini
• Identify and map bottlenecks and dependencies before they become blockers
• Serve as tie-breaker on user-facing project aspects when R&D consensus cannot be reached
• Meet with clients and industry stakeholders to gather feedback and validate product plans, frameworks, and features
• Research and prototype emerging technologies relevant to the assigned domain
• Inform R&D and the broader company about relevant technology areas
• Occasionally represent SideFX at marketing or industry events
• Perform other duties as assigned
