The University of Alberta is seeking a Technology Coach for the Faculty of Education's TechinEd team at North Campus Edmonton. This part-time, in-person role supports students, staff, and instructors in learning and using educational technology, with on-job training provided.

Ideal candidates are current University of Alberta students with strong customer service skills and flexible scheduling, including daytime shifts from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm and occasional longer weeks as needed.

Job description

This competition is restricted to currently enrolled students of the University of Alberta.

This position has an end date ofMarch 31, 2027.

Location - This role is in-person at North Campus Edmonton.

We’re looking for someone who loves teaching, learning new technology skills, and helping others learn. On-job training for all technology will be provided.

Reporting to the Learning Consultant, the Technology Coach works closely with Faculty of Education staff, students, and instructors. The P/T position allows the successful applicant to demonstrate their knowledge and passion for educational technology. The Technology Coach will cultivate positive experiences for all guests as they learn and get support.

The ideal candidate will have exceptional customer service skills and office experience is a plus. They will need to demonstrate flexibility, organizational skills, problem-solving, communication skills, and the ability to prioritize.

This position starts October 19, and the candidate MUST be available for at least three hour shifts during the day (9:00 am - 3:00 pm), with the possibility of rare afternoon/evening work, for a minimum of 3 hr/week to a maximum of 37.5 hr/week. Most tech coaches will work 3-8 hours per week.

Preference will be given to strong candidates with availability from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm for at least two three-hour shifts Monday - Friday.

Applicants MUST attach their availability for the Fall and Winter semesters.

Applicants MUST be current students enrolled at the University of Alberta, and undergraduate Education students are strongly preferred.

Education students MUST NOT be enrolled for their AFX during the Fall or Winter school semesters.
