Description:

The resources will act as subject matter experts in a variety of Mainframe software maintenance and hardware activities, including:

• Ensuring Mainframe Operating System support continuity for daily operations and projects listed in the operational plan.
• Supporting mission-critical applications within the Mainframe platform services.
• Supporting Disaster Recovery (DR) plans and buildout.
• Supporting Software Optimization efforts as part of the Data Center Transformation project.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operational support for maintaining Mainframe software and programs.
• Providing migration support for Mainframe software and networking components.
• Supporting decommissioning of Mainframe software and programs.
• On-call/standby support as required, timely ticket closure, and communication with clients/management.
• Adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and device maintenance.
• Providing technical Method of Procedure (MOP) for changes, system captures, and root cause analysis.
• Participating in Mainframe DR hardware installation activities, OS upgrades, and maintenance upgrades.

Experience and Skill Set Requirements:

Evaluation Breakdown:

• Experience overseeing refresh and transition activities, including migration teams.
• Experience replacing large enterprise services and hardware at critical locations.
• Deep knowledge of modern Data Center service models and approaches.

Recent Experience (within 3 years) - 10%:

• Demonstrated recent experience in relevant roles.

Documentation and Communication Skills - 15%:

• Experience in transition and change management activities.
• Strong documentation and writing skills.

Experience and Knowledge with Mainframe Software in Support Roles and Project Management - 15%:

• Operational support experience in large-scale environments similar to the Government of Ontario.
• 10+ years of experience in complex data center uplift and migration projects.

Must Have Skills:
