Job summary

Bombardier Transportation GmbH is seeking a Senior Technologist in Manufacturing Engineering at Marcel-Laurin Plant 1, Montreal area. You will support production challenges, contribute to new part development, and lead technical activities across projects.

The role requires a college diploma in aeronautics or related field, 5 years of relevant experience, and ability to read drawings with 3D visualization. Knowledge of Catia V5 and SAP is a plus; French and English communication is necessary.

Qualifications

• College diploma in aeronautics or related field is required.
• Five years of experience as a methods agent or similar.
• Experience supporting production operations.
• Ability to read technical drawings and visualize in 3D; strong analytical mind.
• Knowledge of aircraft manufacturing and assembly techniques; leadership spirit.

Responsibilities

• Support production challenges and services related to composite parts or metal bonding; respond to cross-department issues.
• Investigate problems and implement corrective actions to prevent line shutdowns.
• Contribute to development and integration of new parts with technical leadership.
• Review/produce assembly notebooks and write change requests as needed.
• Ensure action plans and schedules are maintained; update visual management boards.
• Investigate methods and engineering documentation issues and apply corrective measures.

What are your contributions to the team?

• Support the various production challenges and other services related to composite parts or metal bonding on a daily basis. You and your team will have to react to situations coming from various departments that could cause production line shutdowns.
• Participate in problem investigations and resolutions, as well as integrating opportunities for product improvement. You will be proactive in implementing corrective measures that will prevent future line shutdowns.
• Participate in the development and integration of new parts by providing technical expertise
• and leadership for the full duration of the project.
• Review and/or create assembly notebooks, write and display action files as needed. You will also have to write change requests when required.
• Ensure that there is a person in charge and an action plan that respects the schedule for all problems identified; update the visual management table.
• Investigate problems related to methods and engineering documentation and initiate appropriate corrective measures.

How to thrive in this role?

• You have a college diploma in aeronautics or any other related or equivalent field.
• You have five (5) years of experience as a methods agent or other related experience
• You have relevant experience supporting production operations.
• You are comfortable reading technical drawings and have good 3D visualization and a good analytical mind
• You have a good knowledge of aircraft manufacturing and assembly techniques.
• You have leadership and you support the importance of customer satisfaction.
• You are a team player, organized, autonomous, resourceful, imaginative and you are perseverant.
• You enjoy working in a team and have excellent communication skills.
• You are competent with Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, SAP software and knowledge of Catia V5 is an asset.
• You speak and write in French and English.
