GHD is looking for a senior electrical technician to join our engineering design group.

The role involves working on various aspects of electrical systems for new buildings, code compliance, and system optimization, with practical knowledge in detailed design deliverables and project management.

Responsibilities include:

• Conducting field surveys and drafting plans
• Designing electrical systems for institutional and industrial buildings, including normal and emergency power distribution, lighting, security systems, automation, telecommunications, etc.
• Creating technical drawings using AutoCAD and REVIT
• Overseeing plan preparation stages
• Ensuring compliance with drawing standards
• Performing site visits and supervising construction phases
• Recommending solutions for technical issues under engineer supervision
• Supporting engineers, technicians, and drafters with complex tasks

Required skills and qualifications:

• College diploma (DEC) in electrical engineering or related field
• Knowledge of building electrical codes and standards
• Over 10 years of relevant experience
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and REVIT
• Excellent command of MS Office suite
• Valid ASP Construction card
• Valid driver’s license
• Strong initiative, motivation to learn, organizational and interpersonal skills
• Fluent in French
