About the role

NuChem Sciences is currently seeking a candidate for the position of Animal Health Technician at its research center located in Ville Saint-Laurent. The company provides a variety of preclinical services to the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry, supporting drug discovery and development.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform basic techniques (treatments, biological sample collection, evaluations);
  • Administer treatments to animals and collect laboratory data;
  • Follow guidelines of experimental protocols and standard operating procedures;
  • Maintain a high standard of ethics;
  • Conduct in-life studies of various disease models in animals;
  • Participate in daily team tasks and related duties;
  • Occasionally work on weekends or holidays, or outside routine hours in the morning or evening.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology (BSc) or Animal Health Technician (DEC);
  • 0-2 years of experience handling small laboratory animals;
  • Hard-working, eager to learn, organized, proactive, self-disciplined, and cooperative;
  • Proficient with MS Office;
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle;
  • Mammalian cell culture technique is an asset;
  • Excellent communication skills and fluency in French and English, both oral and written. Good written and verbal English skills are necessary for effective communication with English-speaking collaborators outside Quebec.
