This role puts you at the centre of AWS's physical infrastructure — handling everything from hardware diagnostics and repair to network troubleshooting and equipment installation. As a Data Center Technician at AWS in Varennes, you'll be responsible for maintaining the availability and reliability of data centre operations. Day-to-day work spans server break-fix, network device repair, power and cooling event participation, and network connection troubleshooting. You'll also install equipment, produce technical documentation, and help develop innovative solutions to challenges within the data centre environment.
The team operates in a 24/7 environment, and you'll be expected to participate in on-call rotation, provide after-hours support when needed, and respond to high-severity events within defined service level agreements. Some travel may be required. Strong organizational skills, clear communication, and the ability to prioritize under pressure are key to succeeding in this role. Please note that the successful candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a Canadian Personnel Security Clearance as a condition of employment, which includes continuous Canadian residency of at least five years.
AWS offers a starting wage of $32.93 to $42.16 CAD per hour for this position. Total compensation may also include shift premiums, overtime, and performance bonuses where applicable, with the final rate based on factors such as shift selection, work location, and experience.
