Job summary

Innergex Renewable Energy Inc. is seeking an electromechanical technician to operate and maintain a hydroelectric power plant at the Innavik site in Inukjuak, Quebec. The role focuses on monitoring, safety, and proactive maintenance to ensure reliability.

The ideal candidate has 1+ year in related fields, familiarity with SCADA and MS Office, and a valid driver's license. Inuktitut is an asset; English required, French an asset.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of electromechanical technician experience in electrical work, automation, or industrial maintenance.
• Knowledge of health and safety standards is an asset.
• Training as an electromechanical technician or equivalent.
• Familiarity with the Microsoft Office suite.
• Knowledge of SCADA systems is an asset.
• Lockout/Tagout knowledge or training is an asset.
• Good physical condition and weekend/holiday availability.
• Inuktitut spoken is an asset; English required; French an asset.

Responsibilities

• Operate the hydroelectric power plant as a service operator and perform routine monitoring and maintenance.
• Optimize efficiency and output; manage snow removal and site upkeep.
• Perform daily maintenance and repair on equipment, building, and grounds.
• Investigate and resolve alarm triggers to minimize downtime; ensure 24-hour availability when in service.
• Operate heavy equipment.

Your contribution!

Operate the hydroelectric power plant as a service operator, performing routine monitoring and maintenance.

Your day-to-day!

• Optimize the efficiency and output of the hydroelectric power plant by taking all necessary steps ( snow removal or general site snow management , etc.)


• Perform daily maintenance and repair work on the plant's equipment, the building, and the grounds


• Take all necessary steps to investigate and resolve alarm triggers generated by the hydroelectric power plant in order to minimize downtime (24-hour availability when in service)


• Operate heavy equipment

Your skills, our requirements!

• At least 1 year of experience as an electromechanical technician, in electrical work, automation, industrial maintenance, or any other related field


• Knowledge of health and safety standards is an asset, and ensuring compliance with these standards in all aspects of the job


• Training as an electromechanical technician or any other equivalent training


• Familiarity with the Microsoft Office suite


• Knowledge of SCADA systems is an asset


• (Lockout/Tagout) knowledge or training as an asset


• Good physical condition


• Willingness to work on weekends and holidays


• Flexibility and versatility


• Hold a valid Class 5 driver's license


• Inuktitut (spoken) is an asset since the position is based in Inukjuak


• English, both spoken and written is required.


• French, both spoken and written is an asset.

• This position is an O3 level.
