Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. Mississauga is seeking a Processing Facilities Technician to support our processing line of business. The role involves sampling inbound material, screening analyses, data entry, and operating a tank farm with pumps and valves to prepare product per recipe.

You will maintain organization in a dynamic outdoor setting, communicate with multiple departments, and assist with spill clean-up and safety compliance. Some overtime may be required to meet processing targets.

Qualifications

• Open availability Monday - Friday (required to work morning and afternoon shifts)
• Must be comfortable working in an outdoor environment (cold and heat)
• Must be clean shaven to wear full mask respirator
• Exemplary communication skills and strong organizational abilities

Responsibilities

• Housekeeping to maintain a safe work area
• Respond to emergencies and help with the spill clean-up
• Ensure all work complies with Safety Standards and all applicable codes
• Maintain good working relationship with coworkers and customers
• Some overtime required
• Other duties as requested by Supervisor

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Open availability Monday - Friday (Required to work morning and afternoon shifts)

• Chemistry, Chemical Lab, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Technology, Environnmental Technician, or related field of study

• Must be comfortable working in a 100% outdoor environment (cold and heat)

• Must be clean shaven (to be able to wear full mask respirator)

• Must be comfortable working at heights (up to 10 feet)

• Strong organizational skills

• Keen attention to detail

• Exemplary communication skills
