Job summary

UAP in Montreal, QC, is seeking a Payroll Technician to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing, maintain data integrity in Workday, and support payroll operations.

The role involves answering payroll data questions, managing daily HR/payroll tasks, and collaborating with Canadian teams. Requires 3+ years of payroll experience, proficiency in Excel, and bilingual FR/EN; CPA membership or related courses are an asset.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of payroll experience.
• Knowledge of Workday or another payroll system, and strong Excel skills.
• Bilingualism in French and English, both spoken and written, across Canada.
• Membership in the Canadian Payroll Association or completion of related courses is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Update payroll and HR data in Workday, finalize offboarding files, and ensure data integrity.
• Respond to questions and requests from team members and external organizations regarding payroll and HR data.
• Manage the daily operations of business entities using Time and Labor, develop communications with operators, and make exception corrections.
• Analyze and process payroll-related journal entries.
• Process source deduction remittances as needed and issue Records of Employment.
• Distribute the workload among the various technicians.
• Provide support to the payroll manager and act as a replacement during their absences.
