OVERVIEW

This role involves maintaining the efficient operation of all packaging machinery. It is a 12-hour rotating shift (continental) reporting to the Packaging Maintenance Supervisor. A valid 442 or 309A Ontario electrical license is required.

DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure the safe and reliable operation of all packaging machinery.
• Report equipment deficiencies immediately to the Maintenance Supervisor.
• Participate in the company’s Continuous Improvement program.
• Follow the Redpath Health and Safety policies.
• Contribute to a positive workplace environment.
• Work closely with the Production Supervisor to prioritize tasks and minimize downtime.
• Consider sustainability by reducing, reusing, and recycling resources according to ASR policies.
• Stay informed about workplace health and safety matters relevant to your role.
• Exhibit positive collegial behaviors.
• Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of the packaging area to industry standards.
• Perform machine changeovers as required.
• Complete scheduled preventive maintenance and close work orders.
• Troubleshoot machinery efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Possess mechanical and electrical experience.
• Handle multiple tasks and prioritize based on business needs.
• Communicate effectively in writing and verbally, ensuring accurate shift reports.

WORK EXPERIENCE

• Minimum of 5 years maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of SAP is an asset.
• Basic knowledge of Allen Bradley PLCs.
• Understanding of electrical circuits, power supplies, gearboxes, motors, and pneumatics.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• Licensed Electrician - Required.
• Millwright and Electrical Trade certification preferred.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

No direct supervisory responsibilities.

Physical and safety requirements include lifting up to 50 lbs, working with hands and arms to manipulate materials, frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing stairs, and working with PPE. Must work safely and independently or as part of a team, with flexibility for rotating shifts and overtime as needed.
