Job summary

Altasciences in Laval, QC seeks a Technician, Sample Management to handle inventory, service requests, disposal, and shipments. You will perform Watson LIMS transactions, ensure correct storage conditions, and manage cytotoxic study material in a regulated setting.

Strong communication in French and English is essential. Role requires a high school diploma with relevant experience, or a DEC/BAC in a related field, and at least 6 months of experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma with relevant experience in sample management.
• DEC or BAC in a relevant field required.
• Minimum 6 months of relevant experience in a lab environment.
• Bilingual French and English communication skills required.
• Familiarity with FDA-GLP, GCP and regulatory guidelines is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Perform sample inventory, service requests, and disposal or shipment.
• Execute Watson LIMS transactions for sample movements.
• Ensure proper storage location and conditions for samples.
• Handle containment level 2/cytotoxic study material with care.
• Generate Watson study material reports and maintain SOP compliance.
• Assist in process improvements and documentation workflows.
• Prepare samples for shipment and manage long-term storage scanning.

About The Role

The Technician, Sample Management is responsible for sample management general activities: conduct general activities such as sample inventory, service request and disposal or shipment

What You'll Do Here

Good laboratory document.

Perform the appropriate Watson LIMS transactions for sample movements.

Ensure the correct storage location and condition of samples.

Manipulation of Containment Level 2/Cytotoxic Study Material.

Generation of Study Material Watson Reports.

Conduct all work in compliance with SOPs, GLPs, GCPs and observe all company guidelines and policies.

Participate in process improvement.

Reception inventory and labelling of study material.

Conduct service request and preparation of study material

Storage & Service of Reference Standard Material.

Conduct sample disposal.

Preparation of samples for shipment.

Assemble and scan samples for long term storage.

Shipment preparations of samples in boxes.

What You'll Need to Succeed

• High school degree completed with relevant experience in sample management.
• DEC or BAC in a relevant field.
• Minimum of 6 months of relevant experience.
• Excellent communication skills in French and English.
• Knowledge of FDA-GLP, GCP and TPD regulations are an asset.
• Experience in the medical or pharmaceutical field is an asset.
• Good organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Attentive to details.

• Software: Access, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Watson LIMS.
