Job summary

AVI-SPL, Inc. is seeking a skilled AV technician to fabricate equipment racks, wire systems, and install on customer sites and company offices. The role requires interpreting schematics, performing metal fabrication, and supporting installation tasks as needed.

The ideal candidate will solder/connectors, read blueprints, and troubleshoot fabrication issues while maintaining safety and quality standards on site.

Qualifications

  • Minimum education is high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience with AV fabrication techniques is preferred.
  • Knowledge of installing connectors, projector mounts and metal fabrication is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Solder and crimp connectors as needed.
  • Construct equipment racks and perform metalwork fabrication.
  • Load racks per layout drawing and wire per system schematic.
  • Read and interpret electronic schematics and blueprints.
  • Troubleshoot fabrication issues for clients or office.
  • Assist with installation tasks including cable pulling and mounting.

Job description

JOB SUMMARY

Perform equipment rack fabrication and wiring and systems installation activities at customer sites and company offices.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Solder and crimp connectors where needed
  • Construct equipment racks and perform metalwork fabrication where required
  • Load equipment rack as per layout drawing and wire per system schematic
  • Read and interpret electronic schematics and architectural blueprints
  • Troubleshoot fabrication issues when requested by client or office
  • Assist with and perform installation tasks. Duties may include but are not limited to: Pulling cable installing connectors projector mounting/hanging (ceiling mounts) and metal fabrication

  • Ability to test equipment and perform basic troubleshooting
  • Ability to work and think independently and ensuring to meet deadlines
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Ability to balance multiple tasks with changing priorities
  • Strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills both verbal and written
  • Demonstrated customer service focus and client communication skills
EDUCATION/AND OR EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum High school diploma or equivalent
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of AV practice and fabrication techniques
  • Experience and knowledge of installing connectors projector mounting/hanging metal fabrication is preferred
  • Valid ECS/CSCS card
  • InfoComm CTS qualification
  • Valid Driver's License and a Motor Vehicle Record that meets AVI-SPL driving standards
COMPENSATION
  • Pay Type: Hourly
  • Min Base: CAD $27.71
  • Max Base: CAD $35.32

Actual compensation will be determined based on factors including skills, experience, qualifications, and location.
