Job summary

Canadian North is seeking an Aircraft Technician to join our Maintenance team in Calgary, AB. Under ACA supervision, the Technician performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on Boeing 737 and ATR aircraft in accordance with manufacturer specifications, approved procedures, and industry standards.

Rotating 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM) on a 5-5-4 rotation. Starting salary is determined based on equity and experience, with overtime opportunities under GAFAE Collective Agreement.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) diploma from a Transport Canada-approved program.
  • Eligible to obtain a Transport Canada AME License.
  • Valid Canadian Driver's License.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an AVOP.
  • Must obtain and retain a Restricted Area Identity Card per Transport Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on Boeing 737 and ATR aircraft.
  • Follow Work Sheets, Forms, Work Orders, and approved procedures.
  • Work with shift supervisor to complete assignments.
  • Familiarize with maintenance procedures for aircraft and equipment.
  • Perform aircraft reconfigurations as required by operations.
  • Maintain and use company equipment properly.
  • Keep work areas clean and orderly.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job description

Compensation: $24.44 – $36.27 per hour, with opportunities to earn and bank overtime in accordance with the GAFAE Collective Agreement. Starting salary will be determined based on internal equity and the successful candidate’s qualifications, skills, and relevant experience.

About the Opportunity

Under the supervision of an Aircraft Certification Authority (ACA), the Aircraft Technician performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on Boeing 737 and ATR aircraft in accordance with manufacturer specifications, approved maintenance procedures, and industry standards.

What You'll Do

  • Perform work on aircraft and components as outlined by applicable Work Sheets, Forms, Work Orders, Special Bulletins and Procedures Manuals in conformity with accepted practices;
  • Perform work to the appropriate procedure manuals utilizing approved methods and materials;
  • Responsible to the applicable shift supervisor for the assignment and performance of their work;
  • Familiarize with all procedures for maintenance, repairs to the aircraft and/or equipment they are requested to work on;
  • Perform aircraft reconfigurations as required by the operation;
  • Responsibly use and maintain company equipment;
  • Maintain clean and orderly work areas;
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Previous aircraft maintenance experience;
  • Ability to communicate in Inuktitut.
