Job summary

Canadian North seeks a Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME M2) with ACA to join our Edmonton maintenance team. You will perform and certify scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on Boeing 737 and ATR fleets, ensuring safe, reliable operations in Canada's North on a rotating schedule.

The role offers training opportunities, type course development, competitive compensation, and career growth within Maintenance and Engineering. AVOP and security clearances are required.

Qualifications

  • Completion of an approved Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Diploma Program.
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant aircraft maintenance experience.
  • Valid Canadian Driver's License.
  • Must obtain and maintain an AVOP with the D/DA rating.
  • Must obtain and retain a Restricted Area Identity Card per Transport Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Perform, supervise, and certify maintenance activities including inspections, repairs, modifications, and aircraft movements.
  • Exercise ACA privileges and sign maintenance releases per Transport Canada regulations.
  • Troubleshoot aircraft systems and identify corrective actions.
  • Complete maintenance tasks using approved manuals, work orders, Service Bulletins, and engineering instructions.
  • Ensure all maintenance documentation is completed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Complete and control aircraft parts tags and maintenance records.
  • Maintain accountability for company tools, equipment, and technical publications.
  • Support operational reliability while maintaining high safety standards.
  • Work with Maintenance Control, Flight Operations, Stores, and other departments.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Job description

Schedule: Continental schedule consisting of 12-hour night shifts, 5 shifts on, 5 days off, 4 shifts on, 5 shifts on, 5 days off, 4 shifts on.

Location: Edmonton, AB

Compensation: $38.52-$53.29 per hour, with opportunities to earn and bank overtime in accordance with the GAFAE Collective Agreement. Starting salary will be determined based on internal equity and the successful candidate’s qualifications, skills, and relevant experience.

About the Opportunity

Canadian North is seeking a Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME M2) with Aircraft Certification Authority (ACA) to join our maintenance team in Edmonton, Alberta.

Working on our Boeing 737 and ATR fleet, you will perform and certify scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities that support safe, reliable operations across Canada's North. What You’ll Bring
Required Qualifications
  • Completion of an approved Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Diploma Program
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant aircraft maintenance experience
  • Valid Canadian Driver's License
  • Strong organizational, communication, and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must obtain and maintain an AVOP with the appropriate D/DA rating
  • Must obtain and retain a Restricted Area Identity Card in accordance with the Airport Restricted Area Access Clearance Program regulated by Transport Canada
Preferred Qualifications

Candidates possessing any combination of the following will be considered strong assets:

  • Boeing 737 Classic and/or NG experience
  • ATR 42 and/or ATR 72 experience
  • Previous ACA experience
  • Active ATR or Boeing 737 type course
  • Ability to communicate in Inuktitut
  • Experience working in remote, northern, or rotational operations
