Job summary

Newmarket Volvo in Newmarket, Ontario is seeking a Service Technician to maintain, repair, and service customer vehicles, ensuring safety and satisfaction. You will collaborate with Service Advisors and perform road tests.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of experience, a valid G license, safety boots and tools, and a passion for ongoing learning. Volvo brand experience is a plus; we offer a supportive team and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must have safety boots and own tools.
• Strong aptitude for technical/mechanical repairs.
• Valid G license with a clean driving record.
• 3–5 years of experience.
• Team player with good interpersonal skills.
• Able to operate manual and automatic transmissions.
• ODP license is an asset.
• Drive Clean-Light Duty Inspector Certification is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Perform vehicle maintenance and repairs as assigned.
• Diagnose the source of malfunctions and perform the repair.
• Estimate parts and labour costs.
• Examine vehicles to determine if additional safety or service work is required.
• Explain procedures and repairs directly to the Service Advisors.
• Perform road tests and safety inspections.
• Experience with the Volvo brand.
• Stay updated on repair techniques and industry trends; contribute to process improvements.

The Service Technician is responsible for working attentively in maintaining, repairing, and servicing customer vehicles to ensure safety and customer satisfaction as well as overall department success.

Compensation:

• Expected compensation range: $40 to $42 flat rate;
• The range may vary based on experience and qualifications;
