Jim Pattison Volvo Cars Surrey is hiring an experienced Red Seal Automotive Technician to join our expanding Service Department. You will work on the newest Volvo vehicles with manufacturer-led training and certification opportunities, delivering quality workmanship and excellent customer service.

Responsibilities include diagnosing, repairing, inspecting vehicles, communicating findings with Service Advisors, performing road tests, sourcing parts, and maintaining a safe, organized shop.

Qualifications

• Red Seal Automotive Service Technician certification, or actively pursuing the Red Seal

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain vehicles per dealer standards
• Complete thorough vehicle inspections and document findings
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical concerns and propose repairs
• Communicate findings and timelines with Service Advisors
• Perform road tests and pre-delivery inspections

Jim Pattison Volvo Cars Surrey is hiring an experienced Red Seal Automotive Technician to join our expanding Service Department.

• $40 to $46 per flat rate hour, based on Volvo certification level

A Day in the Life at Volvo

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain vehicles according to manufacturer and dealership standards
• Complete thorough vehicle inspections and accurately document findings and measurements
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical concerns and recommend appropriate repairs
• Work closely with Service Advisors to communicate repair findings, timelines, and additional safety recommendations
• Perform road tests and pre-delivery inspections to ensure vehicles are ready for customers
• Work with the Parts Department to source required parts and complete warranty labeling
• Support fellow technicians when needed to keep the shop running efficiently
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety standards
• Handle customer and company information with a high level of confidentiality
• Contribute to a positive, respectful, and team-oriented workplace
  • Working around moving vehicles, vehicle hoists, tools, and equipment
  • Exposure to normal automotive shop noise, including engines and air tools
  • Exposure to exhaust, solvents, dust, and other automotive shop materials
  • Working in varying temperatures throughout the year
  • Standing, bending, reaching, lifting, and other physical activity throughout the day

What We’re Looking For

• Red Seal Automotive Service Technician certification, or currently working toward your Red Seal
• Previous automotive technician experience
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
• A valid BC Driver’s Licence and satisfactory Driver’s Abstract
• Ability to operate both manual and automatic transmission vehicles
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Reliable, punctual, and professional
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced dealership environment
• Physically able to perform the requirements of the position, including regularly lifting up to 60 lbs and standing for extended periods
