Job summary

British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC) is hiring a casino technician to maintain gaming equipment across Cascades Casino Penticton and surrounding locations. You will repair hardware, ensure equipment integrity, and support a smooth player experience in a dynamic casino setting.

The role emphasizes teamwork, problem solving, and strong communication, with travel between sites and a requirement to lift up to 25 kg.

Qualifications

  • Recognized technical degree or diploma in electronics or technology support.
  • 3 to 4 years previous technical (hardware) experience or a related background is preferred.
  • An equivalent combination of education and/or experience will be considered.
  • Previous customer service experience is preferred.
  • Ability to comprehend and apply internal control concepts, verifications and procedural review requirements.
  • Ability to compile and analyse information and make informed decisions.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Develop an understanding of Casino operation and standards.
  • Ability to lift 25kg.

Responsibilities

  • Complete projects to enhance player experience and perform repairs and maintenance that ensure integrity on all BCLC gaming equipment.
  • Resolve incidents contributing to sensitive player complaints with diplomacy and tact.
  • Complete assigned duties and contribute towards a high performing casino environment that will excite players with high revenue machines placed in prime locations.

Expected Salary Range: $63,943.00 - $79,928.00 - $99,909.00

The Team

Our Operations teams are what make it all happen! They ensure our business is operating efficiently so we are able to meet our financial targets across each line of business and that no matter your game, everything is running with a high degree of integrity, efficiency and with our players top of mind. From Player Experience & Strategy, Gaming Platforms & Operations to Facilities, this group loves to execute and are dedicated to their craft. Our casino technicians are a very collaborative group, are supported by a wide range of stakeholders and a robust onboarding program.

The Role

Our technicians provide the technical expertise to maintain our casino gaming equipment in our casino facilities, deliver an exceptional experience for our players when they encounter issues and ensure we are leveraging our product to drive value for both our service providers and BCLC. Technicians collaborate and build trusting relationships with internal & external stakeholders. In larger facilities, you will assign work to others, while in smaller locations, you will operate independently. This position reports to a Manager of Business Operations and may require occasional travel to a secondary location within the region.

What you will accomplish

  • Develop an understanding of Casino operation and associated repairs;
  • Develop an understanding of Casino Standards, Policies and Procedures;
  • Develop a thorough knowledge of the gaming systems and modules, the communications rack and its functionality
  • Ability to work flexible hours (shift work);
  • Ability to work at multiple locations within a set region;
  • Ability to lift 25kg is required.
