We are seeking a proficient, customer-oriented Technical Support Technician to join our dedicated support team! This pivotal role delivers skillful technical assistance to our customers, resolves inquiries effectively, ensures seamless interactions with our range of products/services, and supports newly implemented projects on a global level.

This role is 100% onsite and based either out of our Regional Office in Waterloo, ON or our office in Boisbriand.

Job Duties:

  1. Provide professional assistance to clients in answering inquiries, and interpreting resource catalogs via telephone.
  2. Troubleshoot and repair Topcon products in house and at the customer’s site.
  3. Provide remote assistance via internet connection or phone.
  4. Provide technical and clinical support to customers, distributors and employees.
  5. Work under minimal supervision.
  6. Complete issues escalated by support team (Open/track RMA's for repair.)

Job Requirements:

  1. Requires BS degree or AS in Electronic Technology, Biomedical Technology, Computer Science or equivalent.
  2. Preferred engineering degree such as Biomedical, Electrical, or Mechanical
  3. Basic knowledge of SQL, Networking and Microsoft Windows and Microsoft office
  4. Good written & verbal communication skills.
  5. Good organization skills. Must be able to multitask quickly analyze and resolve specific problems.
  6. Skilled at logging customer complaints and notes in the CRM system
  7. Able to follow work instructions and standard and standard operating procedures
  8. Negotiation, people, and critical thinking skills.
  9. Ability to deal effectively with customers.
  10. Knowledge of medical device preventative maintenance and repair
  11. Must have detailed follow up skills.
  12. Must be able to work flexible hours.
  13. Open to working weekends if needed
  14. Willing to put extra hours when necessary
  15. English & French speaking a must
  16. Strong IT background
