The Technical Superintendent plays a critical role in managing the day-to-day technical operations of assigned vessels, ensuring compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations. This position is pivotal in maintaining the highest standards of safety, operational efficiency, and environmental protection. The role requires extensive domestic and international travel and demands strong leadership in vessel operations, maintenance, and collaboration with various departments to achieve operational excellence.

Requirements:

  • Educational Background: Post-secondary education in Maritime Studies, preferably with a focus on Marine Engineering. A Class One Certificate of Competency is highly desirable.
  • Experience: A minimum of 3 years in a technical or managerial role within the maritime industry, with a proven track record of success in ship operations and maintenance.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of ISM/ISO regulations, OCIMF standards, and the ability to conduct thorough investigations and analyses.
  • Technical & Leadership Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), the ability to analyze technical data and drawings, and strong leadership and project management capabilities.
  • Flexibility & Mobility: Valid passport and driver’s license, with no travel restrictions. The role involves routine after-hours and weekend work, on-call responsibilities, and occasional international travel.
