Job summary

Job Overview:

Responsible for executing new products and equipment from concept to commercialization, as well as implementing product and process improvements to enhance overall business performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead commercialization of new products through plant trial validations.
  • Coordinate trial schedules and product requirements.
  • Record trial observations and critical parameters to ensure product consistency.
  • Assist Production with troubleshooting product-related issues and recommend solutions, updating documentation accordingly.
  • Ensure quality and specifications compliance during new product launches.
  • Coordinate changes in product information or processes across stakeholders and update documents as needed.
  • Provide technical expertise and oversight.
  • Guide PD and operations teams on processes and troubleshooting.
  • Assist Engineers with testing products using new processes and equipment.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects.
  • Manage raw material substitutions and process improvement initiatives.

The Recipe for Success:

  • Completion of a college diploma in Food Science or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in Quality Assurance, Product Development, Baking, or Pastry Arts.
  • Experience in the Food Manufacturing industry.
  • Understanding of GMP, HACCP, GFSI standards (BRC, SQF), and Food Allergens.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Knowledge of commercial bakery ingredients, processes, and equipment capabilities.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, delegate, and follow up.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
