The Role

We are seeking a Technical Service Representative based in the Maritime Provinces, Canada, to provide on-site technical services, including installation, maintenance, and repair of electronic medical devices distributed by QuidelOrtho. This is a remote position with a company vehicle, gas card, cell phone, and laptop provided. Candidates should reside within Newfoundland, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, or Prince Edward Island.

The Responsibilities

  • Install, troubleshoot, repair, test, and certify electronic medical devices in the field.
  • Provide service to hospitals across the Maritimes and other provinces as needed.
  • Complete all paperwork related to service calls and preventive maintenance accurately.
  • Stay current with industry practices and assist with customer presentations and trade shows as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

The Individual

Candidates must meet Customer Credentialing requirements, which may include immunizations. We are an equal opportunity employer and accommodate vaccination exemptions where lawful.

Minimum Requirements

  • Graduation from a community college or university program in electronic/biomedical engineering or equivalent.
  • Excellent English communication skills, analytical thinking, and proactive attitude.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to manage multiple projects in a team environment.
  • Valid driver’s license and safe driving skills.
  • Legal ability to travel to the US for training.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Legal work authorization in Canada (no sponsorship provided).
  • Willingness to travel up to 70%.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in hospital laboratory equipment repair.
  • Bilingual in English and French.

Key Relationships

Internal: Field Service team, Technical Specialists, Support staff, and other departments.

External: Customers, including Laboratory Managers and Supervisors.

Work Environment

Field-based role with a typical workweek, requiring autonomous work and travel, including overnight stays. Must be physically capable of travel and lifting up to 75 lbs. Must maintain a valid driver’s license and suitable vehicle.
